European Football Championship: How to React in Emergency Situations

Big tournaments such as the European Football Championship bring thousands of fans to stadiums. They are exciting events, but also a time when safety needs extra attention. How should you behave in an emergency at the stadium? Here are some tips to keep in mind.

Safety tips for fans

  • Take your medication with you. If you or someone close to you takes medication, make sure you have the right dose with you.
  • Keep your children safe. Keep an eye on them, agree on a meeting point in case you get separated, and give them ear protection if needed.
  • Stay alert and watch your surroundings. Pay attention to people who feel unwell or behave unusually.
  • Bring a hat and sunscreen. Long exposure to the sun can cause overheating and sunstroke.
  • Drink plenty of water. This is especially important on hot days, when it is easy to get dehydrated.
  • Avoid crowds and aggressive behavior. If there is a riot or panic, try to stay calm and leave the area.
  • In an emergency, don’t panic. Act quickly and decisively.
  • Call for help. Call the emergency number 112 or go to the nearest first aid point.
  • Give first aid. Help the injured person until the emergency services arrive.
  • Don’t get in the way of the emergency services. Follow their instructions and keep the way to the injured person clear.
  • Have fun safely and support your team!

A championship is a unique event, but safety comes first. By following these simple rules, we can help ourselves and other fans in an emergency.

First aid at the stadium, for every fan

First aid is not only a job for medical services or trainers. It is a skill that can save your life, the life of someone close to you or even a stranger’s. Don’t wait for someone else to react: learn what to do and be ready to act.

VR training: save lives at a virtual stadium

To meet the needs of fans, we created a VR first aid training. The application takes you to a virtual stadium where a dramatic scenario unfolds in front of you: the goalkeeper goes into cardiac arrest. Your task is to respond immediately: perform basic life support (BLS) and use an automated external defibrillator (AED) in line with European guidelines, and form a protective screen that shields the rescuers from onlookers.

Why take part in our training?

  • A realistic scenario: a virtual stadium and a realistic emergency give you valuable experience of responding in a crisis.
  • Practical skills: you learn how to perform BLS and use an AED correctly, the skills that save lives.
  • Works with CPR manikins: the application works with any CPR manikin available on the market, so you can practice in conditions close to the real thing.

Take care of your own safety and that of the people around you

We encourage all fans to learn first aid. Remember that in a crisis, your reaction can save a life.

Our first aid applications have already been used to train, among others, young players of the Legia Warszawa football club.
