Virtual Reality in Business: How to Overcome the Most Common Concerns
Artur Kamiński2 min read
Virtual reality (VR) is no longer just for entertainment. It is entering the business world with solutions for training, collaboration and design. Even so, many companies still approach it with hesitation. Below, we discuss the six most common objections and show how to address them.
1. “It’s too new and unproven”
VR may seem like a novelty, but it is already a proven technology used by global market leaders such as Boeing, Volkswagen and GE Healthcare. Their projects show that VR is a mature tool that delivers real benefits in complex manufacturing and training processes.
2. “We’re worried about data security and privacy”
Security is crucial in any corporate environment. Business VR platforms such as Meta for Work are designed with this in mind. They offer enterprise-grade security, including central device management (MDM) and support for single sign-on (SSO) and VPN, so company data stays protected.
3. “We already use Zoom and Teams”
VR is not meant to replace video conferencing tools but to complement them. Zoom and Microsoft Teams are also available in VR, but it is virtual reality that adds real spatial collaboration. It gives a sense of presence that a standard video call cannot, which makes it ideal for hybrid teams.
4. “Deployment seems too complicated”
VR hardware manufacturers understand business needs, so deployment has been made as simple as possible. Devices can be delivered pre-configured and ready for mass enrollment in the company’s system, and IT administrators have tools to manage the whole fleet of headsets centrally.
5. “It’s too expensive”
Instead of seeing VR as a cost, it is worth looking at it as an investment with a high return (ROI). Virtual training significantly reduces logistics costs, helps employees remember more, reduces costly mistakes and increases team engagement.
6. “We don’t have our own content, and creating it is difficult”
This is a common concern, and at EHS VR, this is exactly the problem we solve. Our training was created by OHS experts and industry specialists, so we can offer a ready-made library of realistic training scenarios that meet the real needs of companies.
Ready-made solutions: we provide a range of modules, including fire safety, first aid, working at height and forklift operation. They are based on proven procedures and ready to use straight away in EHS Academy.
Custom content: every company is different. That is why we work closely with our clients to adapt existing scenarios or create entirely new ones that reflect their work environment, machinery and procedures. See custom VR applications.
You don’t have to be a VR expert: you just have to be an expert in your field. We take care of the rest and turn your knowledge into an interactive, engaging training experience.
